Second-round action features Mustangs, Rebels, War Eagles

Local football fans have a choice of games to attend this Friday night as three high school teams from Carroll County will be playing in the second round of the state playoffs.

The Huntingdon Mustangs will be hosting Moore County, the McKenzie Rebels are hosting Adamsville, and the West Carroll War Eagles are traveling to Greenfield.

All games start at 7 p.m.

The Mustangs now stand at 9-2 overall after defeating Cornersville 48-8 in the first round. Moore County will enter Friday night’s game with a 10-1 overall record after topping Wayne County 49-14 in round one.

The Rebels and War Eagles both had to take a bye in the first round due to COVID issues with other teams and will be starting their state bids in the second round.

The Rebels (6-3) will be looking to avenge their loss to Adamsville (6-4) in the final game of the regular season.

The War Eagles (6-3) are hoping to make it two in a row against Greenfield (8-1) after handing the Yellow Jackets their only regular season loss in game 10.

The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers (4-5) ended their season this past Friday night with a 37-0 loss to Fayetteville (9-2) in the first round.
