There’s nothing like chocolate to give you a lift.
2 cups milk
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Scald the milk in a double boiier. Mix the sugar and cornstarch and add to the milk.
Cook 15 minutes. Beat the egg yolks and dilute with a tablespoon of hot milk.
Add back to the milk mixture. Remove from the stove and add coconut and vanilla. Fold in the stiffly beaten whites of the eggs. Chill and serve with whipped cream.
