Domestic Assault
On August 16, officers responded to 535 Hill Court in reference to a domestic. Upon arrival officers spoke with, Damion L. Byrd, 22 of Huntingdon, who committed the domestic assault on the mother of his child, Sarah Sturdivant, at their residence of 535 Hill Court in Huntingdon. According to the victim, the defendant grabbed her by the face and pulled her down to the ground. While on the ground the defendant held her mouth and nose closed. The victim had visible injuries to her face and hand. Pictures were taken by both parties.
Driving on Suspended
On August 26, Officer Brad Allen saw Felicia Layhew, 35 of Huntingdon, operating a motor vehicle on Veterans Drive south. Officer Allen had prior knowledge of the defendant’s driver’s license being suspended. The officer than ran a computer check of her driver’s license and that confirmed that it was suspended. Ms. Layhew was then issued a citation into General Sessions Court and charged with driving while suspended second offense.
Theft
On August 21, Ms. Rhonda Hamilton, 43 of Hollow Rock, was observed on camera at Walmart in Huntingdon leaving the store with numerous items valued at $40.82 without paying for them. Ms. Hamilton was apprehended shortly after leaving the store. And the items were returned undamaged, thus no restitution is due. Ms. Hamilton was cited for court for theft of property/conduct involving merchandise.
Possession
On August 21, Michelle Licona, 24 out of Murfreesboro, was in control of 2014 Nissan Maxima stopped on HWY 70 near Skyline Drive for failure to maintain lane. The responded officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. During a probable cause search, multiple baggies of marijuana was located along with a set of digital scales, and a loaded 0.380 Ruger Pistol with a high-capacity magazine that dispatch was able to confirm as stolen with the Metro Nashville Police department. During transport to the Carroll County Jail, the defendant stated she had an additional bag of Marijuana on her persons private area concealed. The total amount of marijuana that was recovered was 67 grams. Ms. Licona was charged with failure to maintain a lane and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
Public Intoxication
On August 22, Hunter Shaun White of Hollow Rock showed up uninvited at a residence on Mayes Avenue in Huntingdon. Mr. White then called 911 dispatch and stated that something was wrong with him. Upon contact with Mr. White, he immediately threw something out of his pocket onto the ground. Officer Labe Ezell noticed that the defendant’s speech was extremely erratic and incoherent. When the officer asked Mr. White if had taken anything to make him feel that way, the defendant stated that he did not do drugs, but he had taken one ecstasy pill. Mr. White was a threat to himself and to public safety, he was taken into custody and transported to the Carroll County Jail.
