Theft of Property

  •  On September 18th, Bobby Mann stated that he placed his vehicle at the intersection of HWY 219 and Northwood Dr. on September 14th to be displayed for sale. Mr. Mann returned the vehicle back to his residence on September 17th. Mr. Mann also stated that on September 18th, when he returned home after church, he noticed that the license plate was missing from the vehicle.

Domestic Assault

  • On September19th, William C. Brown, out of Huntingdon was arrested for domestic assault, aggravated assault, and cited for vandalism.

Deputy Steven Scott responded to a call about a domestic, upon his arrival he met with the victim Evangelia Hopkins. She stated that her boyfriend, William Brown, had hit her several times in the face. Hopkins stated that Brown had stabbed her in the leg and attempted the stab her in the neck with a knife. The victim had several visible wounds including her eyes being swollen. The victim stated she stopped at Brown’s mothers house to get away from him and he stabbed one of her tires with the knife. Mr. Brown did admit to stabbing her tire and was arrested in Carroll County.

Drug Violation

  • Felicia Kay Layhew, out of Huntingdon was charged on a drug/narcotic violation on September 17th.

Deputy Tucker and Deputy Sevarns were serving a warrant for theft of property at 356 Cotham Dr.. The deputies entered the home and found Ms. Layhew hiding in one of the closets, where they informed her, she was under arrest in Carroll County for theft of property. After placing her in custody, the deputies were allowing her to gather her items to put into her purse that had been laying on the dryer. Deputy Tucker noticed a marijuana grinder in plain view, he informed her would confiscate it and asked what the contents of the clear plastic bag was, that was right beside the grinder. She then grabbed the plastic bad and threw in into her purse, she puled away from the deputies and ran for the door. Another deputy was able to catch her at the edge of the carport and handcuffs were placed on her. The contents of the plastic bag did field test positive for meth.
