Theft

On 12/5/22, Cody Roberts reports his two shotguns stolen from the backseat of his vehicle. Robert stated the two guns, were in a soft gun case and his vehicle was unlocked. The break-in happened around 4:30 P.M., the gun was entered into NCIC on 12/12/22. This is all the information currently.

Narcotics

Jeffery Mark Wood, 56, of Atwood was charged with possession of schedule II meth, given bond of $1,500.

On 12/10/22, around 3 a.m., Deputy Townes initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to maintain lane. The driver identified as, Jeffrey Wood, advised the officer, that the fog was giving him trouble while he was driving. Townes asked Wood out of the vehicle to write a warning ticket. Townes gains reasonable suspicion that there might have been criminal activity at play. Townes was given consent to search the driver’s vehicle and person. Upon searching Wood’s person, officers located 0.9 grams of a substance that did field test positive for meth.

Theft

On 12/10/22, Austin Cadis, brought documents Carroll County Sheriff Department in reference to his stolen Kubota Skid Steer (heavy machinery). He advised officers he found the machine for sale of Facebook. Officers were able to locate the machine, with further investigations, it was clear the worn off paint on the new piece of machine had been tampered with allowing the vin number to be unreadable. Officers were able to confirm the serial number in the trunk as well as the vin number off the title. The property owner stated he paid $50,000 cash when he met a “hotshot” driver in Texarkana. He stated he offered the guy a cashier check, but they insisted on cash because they did not want to report it on their taxes. A guy by the name of Yimmy Bravo gave the title to the property owner. The title did show a clear match of the serial number. A hit was sent to ST. Tammany Parish SO, LA. They were able to confirm the stolen property.
