Two county 4-Hers win numerous horse show awards

Two Carroll County 4-Hers showed out at the regional and state 4-H horse shows this summer. Alyvia Foster and Gracie Hix, both seniors at Hollow Rock Bruceton Central High School, earned numerous awards in the senior division of the regional and state 4-H horse shows. The purpose of the 4-H Horse Show program is to provide a progressive series of educational opportunities for 4-H members to exhibit their skills at the county, region, state or national levels. This program allows the 4-H members to participate in activities designed to improve their sense of citizenship, fair play, horse management, character, competitive attitude and self-discipline, while creating an atmosphere for learning and applying life skills. 

Alyvia Foster placed in the following categories at the regional competition: 

second – Halter Geldings, second – Senior. Western Pleasure, second – Senior Western Horsemanship, second – Senior  Ranch Pleasure, third – Senior. Ranch Horsemanship, fourth Senior. Trail- Western, Ranch & Gaited, fifth, Hunter Geldings, fifth – Senior. Hunter Under Saddle, fifth – Senior, Hunt Seat Equitation, eighth – High Point Winner – Hunter Division, and Ninth Senior  Showmanship. Alyvia also won the senior. high point ranch division. 

Gracie Hix placed in the following categories at the regional competition: 

Senior High Point Runner Up – Ranch Division, first- Senior. Ranch Pleasure, first Senior. Ranch, Horsemanship, second – Hunter Mares, second- Senior. Hunt Seat Equitation, third Senior. Hunter Trail, fourth – senior Hunter Under Saddle, fourth – Halter Mares, fifth – High Point Winner – Hunter Division, fifth – Srenior Showmanship, fifth – Senior. Trail- Western, Ranch & Gaited, sixth – Senior. Hunter Showmanship.Gracie also attended the State 4-H Horse Show winning first in Senior Hunter Trail and Senior Ranch Riding. She took home third in Senior Ranch Showmanship, Senior Hunter Under Saddle, and senior. Hunt Seat Equitation, sixth in Senior Ranch Trail, and eighth in Hunter in Hand Senior. Mares.
