A Sunday afternoon bicycle-vehicle accident near McLemoresville has left Lex Suite, a town resident, seriously injured. He is currently recovering at The Med in Memphis.
Suite, 61, was cycling east on State Route 77 near Chance Lane around 2:30 p.m. on his white touring bicycle when the mishap occurred.
His injuries of mostly broken bones are on his left side, according to his mother-in-law, Barbara Younger of McLemoresville. “Although his recovery is expected to be long, his injuries are not life-threatening,” she said Monday morning. Some of his injuries include a broken wrist, ribs, leg, and punctured lung.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol report indicated the accident occurred between Suite and a 2020 Ford Explorer driven by Jason M. Copous, 45, from Gibson County. Copous was not injured.
Suite serves as principal of Riverside High School in Decaturville and is married to Lana Younger Suite, a county commissioner from District 2.
