Kirk Thomas Maddox 1998-2020

Kirk Thomas Maddox left us
on April 20, 2020, in Martin,
Tennessee. He was born on
March 26, 1998, and grew up
in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
Kirk is survived by his
brothers, Adam and
Ethan Maddox, Adam’s wife,
Michelle, his nephew Gavin
Maddox, his niece Juliet
Maddox, and his parents,
Matthew “Matt” and Angie
Maddox, all of whom will
forever remember him but
will miss him every day. He
is also survived by his
maternal grandparents, Betty
and Larry Forbess and his
paternal grandmother, Clara
Maddox. He was predeceased
by his paternal grandfather,
D. D. Maddox. He was also
predeceased by his maternal
great grandmother and his
namesake, Mrs. JoIna “Kirk”;
Forbess. In addition, Kirk is
also survived by his aunts
and uncles, Butch and Gena
Maddox, Jean and Tim
Newsome, Julia Maddox, and
Ryan and Michelle
Forbess. Kirk was
additionally predeceased by
his “Uncle Web” Maddox.
Kirk also left numerous
cousins whom he all loved.
He is also survived by his
girlfriend, Olivia Reagan.
Kirk was a Senior Health and
Human Performance major at
the University of Tennessee,
Martin and was to graduate in
May. Kirk was on track to
obtain his doctorate in
physical therapy with
plans to be a hands on
physical therapist. He wanted
to spend his life doing what

he wanted to do most –
helping people. While at
UTM he was a member of the
UTM Shape Club and the
National Society of
Leadership and Success.
Kirk had a beaming smile
that no one could miss. He
knew exactly when to crack a
joke, make a funny voice, or
show a smooth dance move,
just when it was needed most.
Kirk loved life. He loved his
classmates, his teammates,
and his friends in scouting
both young and old who
helped him attain his Eagle
rank. He was becoming an
avid duck hunter and loved to
hook bass. He loved sports
and was learning new ones
including running. Kirk was a
Vol For Life.
Kirk had a second family that
he also truly loved. That was
his family of friends. Kirk
would want them to know
how much he adored each
and every one of them and
how grateful he was
for everything they did for
him and for their friendship.
He was honored to call them
friend.
Kirk most of all loved his
family and his family loved
him. There is a void which
now exists which will never
be filled. We will forever
love, cherish, and remember
him and one day when you
see us smile for no reason
you will know that we are
thinking of Kirk.
Given the current national
conditions and the family’s
concern for the health and
well-being of others,
graveside funeral services
were conducted on Sunday,
April 26, 2020, at 2:00 PM at

Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
Bro. Arthur Lodge and Steve
Phelps officiated the service.
Pallbearers who served were
Nathan Rich, Teyton Cloar,
Kyle Lutz, Jacob Davenport,
Grant Hilliard, and Chad
Edwards.

in memory of Kirk.
