James W. Mann, Jr.

James “Jim” William Mann, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, Sept. 25, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. The family will be holding a celebration of life service at a later date.
Mr. Mann was born on July 17, 1944, in Huntingdon, to the late James and Ardelle Mann. He grew up working on his parent’s farm and in their general store. After high school, he worked at Farmer’s Co-Op before moving with his family to Murray, Ky., where he served as a supervisor at Parker Popcorn. The family then moved to Madisonville, where they owned a snack distributorship and shop. Even after selling their business and moving to Louisville to be closer to their children, Jim never stopped working. He walked every day to Bunton Seed, where he could be trusted to unload trucks and greet all customers with a smile and friendly conversation.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Johnson Mann; his daughters Kim and Melissa (TJ); a son, John (Lissy), his sister, Martha (Hugh), a nephew, Dustin; and eight grandchildren; Elizabeth, Ethan, Lily, Aiden, Audrey, Etta, Clara, and Lisa.
