As tnAchieves prepares to work with its 12th student cohort, the non-profit is taking a moment to celebrate mentors who have served their community for at least five years!
In Caroll County, Dawn Cole has served as a mentor for at least five years and remains committed to supporting students locally.
Mentors serve as an additional layer of support for TN Promise students as they navigate the college-going process. They commit one hour per month to provide reminders ahead of important deadlines, serve as a trusted college resource and, most importantly, encourage each student to reach their full potential. Many TN Promise students will be the first in their family to attend college and need a little extra support.
“Much of our success lies in our volunteer mentoring program,” said tnAchieves Executive Director Krissy DeAlejandro. “While our students remain our priority, our mentors represent the heart of tnAchieves.
