Mrs. Christine Mathis
Wright, 95, passed away on
Wednesday, March, 25, at
Baptist Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 29,
1924, to the late Robert Toy
Mathis and Kate Emma
Eason Mathis in Bruceton.
She was a homemaker,
member of Bruceton First
United Methodist Church for
95 years where she played
the organ for worship
services, funerals and
weddings for 72 years and
was very active in the
U.M.W. Besides her parents,
she was also preceded in
death by her husband, Neely
Wright, a son, Christopher
Wright, and a sister, Bobbye
Jean Johnson. She is
survived by three daughters:
Katie (Larry) Kaler of
Memphis, Bethany (Bill)
Kroemer of Portland and
Melanie (Ross) Beavis of La
Salle Manitoba, Canada;
seven grandchildren: Rob
(Melinda) Kaler, Ryan Kaler,
Joe (Shelley) Kaler, Allana
(Steven) Foster, Mary Kate
Beavis, Brianne (Dewey)
Slusher and Brent
(Katherine) Koemer; and
nine great-grandchildren:
Larry and Emma, Kaler,
Virgil Evans, Loren, Lia and
Owyn Kaler, Christian,
Abram, Faith Anne and Eden
Slusher.
A private graveside service
will be held at Prospect
Cemetery for the family due
to COVID-19. Bro. Steve
Whitworth will officiate and
the pallbearers are: Rob
Kaler, Ryan Kaler, Joe Kaler,
Brent Kroemer, Dewey
Slusher, Larry Kaler,
Christian Slusher and Owen
Kaler.
There will be a Christine
Wright celebration of life
held at Bruceton First United
Methodist Church as soon as
the virus has passed. A date
will be announced as soon as
available.
