THE HUNTINGDON BOARD OF EDUCATION WILL HOLD A MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2026 AT 5:00 P.M. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE HUNTINGDON CENTRAL OFFICE LOCATED AT 585 HIGH ST, HUNTINGDON, TN. INDIVIDUALS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD ON AN AGENDA ITEM SHALL NOTIFY THE DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS’ OFFICE BY 1:00 P.M. ON THE DAY OF THE BOARD MEETING.

INVITATION TO SUBMIT PROPOSAL

TOWN OF HUNTINGDON, TENNESSEE

The Town of Huntingdon is soliciting proposals from qualified dealers for purchase of one (1) 2026 Ford Maverick Truck.  A copy of the specifications and bid response form for the vehicle proposal is attached.  All bids must be signed, sealed, plainly marked with the phrase "PROPOSAL –VEHICLE” and delivered to the town recorder's office not later than 2:00 P.M. (CST), Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Council Room of the Huntingdon City Hall.  All proposals received will be examined and submitted for approval to the Town Council at the regular meeting at 5:15 P.M., Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

The town reserves the right to reject any proposal for cause; to reject all proposals and invite new proposals and/or to accept what is in their opinion the lowest and best proposal.  The town council is the final arbiter of all questions concerning the proposals.

It is the policy of the Town of Huntingdon not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex or disability in its hiring and employment practices, or in admission to, access to, or operation of its programs, services and activities.

FOR SERVICE BY PUBLICATION

It appearing to the Court for the affidavit filed in this cause that the whereabouts of the Defendant, Mae Jean Holland, are presently unknown and cannot be ascertained upon diligent inquiry, so that ordinary process cannot be served upon her. Therefore, this Order of Publication should be published in the Carroll County News-Leader newspaper located in Huntingdon,  Carroll County, Tennessee, as the best possible notice to the Defendant under the circumstances. 

Defendant, Mae Jean Holland, is hereby required to appear and file an Answer with the Clerk and Master of the Carroll  County Chancery Court, 99 Court Square, Huntingdon, Tennessee, 38344 or otherwise defend against the Complaint to Quiet Title Pursuant on property previously owned by Mae Jean Holland located at 245 Miller Road, Huntingdon, Tennessee 38344 and to serve an answer to said Complaint by March 6, 2026, which is (30) days from the last day of publication of this notice, and send a copy of said Answer to Katherine N. Phillips, attorney for Plaintiffs in this cause,  whose address is 46 S. Main Street, Suite 2, Lexington, Tennessee, 38351 

If there is no answer, a hearing on Plaintiff’s Motion for Default Judgement shall be heard on March 17, 2026. Failure to answer or appear may result in granting a Default Judgement to the Plaintiff.
