Billy Dyer “Bill” Sills, 78, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 5 in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Jeremy Brown, Eld. Scott Holloway, and Eld. Charles Johnson officiating the service. Burial followed in the Marlboro Cemetery.
Mr. Sills was born June 17, 1942 in Bruceton, to the late Willie and Callie (Stagner) Sills. He graduated from UT Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, was a pitcher on the baseball team, was the owner of Bill Sills Sportswear in Huntingdon, and was an Elder and Founder of Journey Church in Jackson. He dedicated his life to teaching and preaching about his savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Chris) Pickens; two sons, Billy (Gina) Sills, and Eric (Regina) Sills all of Jackson. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Emily Sills, Andrew Sills, Brad (Erica) Sills, Peyton Sills, Adam Sills, Madison Sills, Jackson Sills, Kristen Pickens, Kallie Pickens, Suzanna Pickens.
Pallbearers who served were Andrew Sills, Brad Sills, Peyton Sills, Adam Sills, Jackson Sills and Steve Spahr.
