Betty J. Houston

Betty Jane Houston, 89, of Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, at her home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Houston was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Huntingdon, to the late Adrian L. Pinson and Margaret O. Redden Pinson.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Wilson Clinic, worked for Dr. Scott Portis for several years, was a member of Huntingdon First United Methodist Church, where she served as historian for a number of years, was a member of United Methodist Women where she served as district officer for a number years and a member of the Women’s Club. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kenneth Houston, whom she was married to for 52 years.

She is survived by one son, Patrick K. (Alison) Houston, of Cosby; and three grandchildren, Lindley E. Houston, Megan R. Houston-Patrick, and John C. L. Houston.
