Evelyn “Evie” DeMoss, 91, passed away after a short illness on August 28 in Alexandria, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years; Charles Garland DeMoss, son of Mildred Darnall and Verdle DeMoss, her parents; Annie Foster and Oscar Orman Herring, and siblings; Dorothy Layman and Oscar Herring.
Evie was born September 6, 1929, in Richmond, VA. She and Charles returned to Alexandria after several military assignments aboard with her husband. Later they moved to Huntingdon where Charles died.
Evie and her twin sister Elizabeth lived together for the last six years of her life. A private family service will be held at a later date and burial will be at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
