Rebecca Butler

1925 – 2022

Annie Rebecca Butler, 96 of Buena Vista passed away Monday, January 10 at the Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 16 in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Billy Clark officiating.  Burial followed at Jamison Cemetery.

Mrs. Butler was born February 10, 1925 in Newbern to the late Ernest Bell and Maude (Frazier) Walton.  She retired, with over thirty years of service, as a factory work for H.I.S. Company, an avid quilter with over 200 quilted pieces, and was a member of Westport Church of Christ.  Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband; Eulas Butler, a son; Mickey R. Butler, and three brothers; Wesley L. Walton, Earnest Mae Walton, Reed Walton, three sisters; Elizabeth Wilson, Louise Walton, and Sue Williams.

She is survived by three daughters; Hilda R. Butler of Saint Augustine, Fla., Kathie N. Cary (Wendell) of Westport, Dianne Farmer of Norris, one son; Thomas W. Butler (Millie) of Cleveland, two brothers; Joe Tyre Walton of Pawley’s Island, S.C., Wilbur G. Walton of Newbern and a sister-in-law; Fay Walton of Obion. She also leaves seven grandchildren; Tabitha, Libby, Becky, Clint, Eric, Ryan, Jack., one step granddaughter; Gina, three great grandchildren; Brooke, Nathan, Luke, four step great grandchildren; Eric, Ryan, Tristen, John Thomas, and one great-great granddaughter Sophie.
