McKenzie’s Davis wins Miss Basketball honor

MISS BASKETBALL – McKenzie’s Savannah Davis shows off her Class A Miss Basketball trophy on March 14 in Murfreesboro.

McKenzie High School sophomore Savannah Davis is going to need a bigger trophy case.

After earning District 11A and Region 6A MVP honors. Davis added state-tournament MVP to her dossier.

Monday evening, her trophy case got a little more crowded when she was named Class A Miss Basketball. The ceremony took place on the Murphy Center floor in Murfreesboro.

She was joined by Class A finalists Alayna Anderson of Gleason and Lyndie Ramsey of Unaka.

Davis, a 5-9 guard,  averaged 18.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for the eventual state champions. She also eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau during the state tournament.

She is the daughter of Boo and Andrea Davis of McKenzie.
