McKenzie’s Davis named Ms. Basketball finalist

FINALIST – McKenzie’s Savannah Davis (#14), pictured above during the Lady Rebels’ Dec. 17 win over Huntingdon, has recently been named as a Miss Basketball finalist in Class A.

McKenzie High School sophomore basketball standout Savannah Davis has been named as a finalist for Class A Miss Basketball.

She has been one of the top scorers for the Lady Rebels this year and had 19 points against Houston County in the season finale Thursday night. Davis is joined by fellow finalists Alayna Anderson of Gleason and Lyndie Ramsey of Unaka.

This is the first time McKenzie has had a Mr. Football and Miss Basketball finalist in the same year. Savannah is the daughter of Boo and Andrea Davis of McKenzie.

Awards will be given in all six classifications in boys and girls at 5 p.m. March 14 at Middle Tennessee State’s Murphy Center on the eve of the TSSAA Division I boys basketball state tournament. The event will be free and open to the public.
