Aggravated Assault

•Dion Antrell Teague, 38, homeless, of McKenzie was charged with aggravated assault on February 16 after he entered the lawn of an Oak Street resident and reportedly struck the occupant in the head with an object. Officer Tanner Jackson stated he arrested Teague, who was banned from entering the property. The dispute was reportedly over a woman. Teague was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Violation of Probation

•Lloyd James Sawyer, 58, of Winchester Street, McKenzie, was charged with violation of probation on February 13.

Officer Dalton Raspberry made contact with Sawyer at the intersection of Locust and Park Streets with knowledge that Sawyer had an active citation for violation of probation. Sawyer was cited into court.

Theft

•David A. Puckett, 39, of Spruce Street, McKenzie, was charged with theft after he reportedly took a chair from a residence on Park Cove.

The victim described the chair and said who he thought took the chair. Officer Tanner Jackson went to the subject’s house, found the chair, and placed Puckett under a criminal summons for theft of property.

License Violation

•Kenneth Payne, Jr., 36, of Park Cove, McKenzie, was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license – fourth offense on February 12.

Officer Dalton Raspberry witnessed Payne driving a lawnmower down Washington Street. Since the lawnmower did not have a mowing deck, the officer knew it was merely for transportation. Payne was arrested for the above offense and possession of methamphetamine. A family member retrieved the lawnmower.
