Madison Gilbert crowned McKenzie Homecoming Queen

In pregame ceremonies Friday night, McKenzie High School basketball homecoming queen was crowned. She is Madison Gilbert, the 18-year-old senior daughter of Emily Daily. She is a four-year member of the Lady Rebel basketball team and one of the 2022 State Championship team members. She is a member of the Beta Club, Yearbook Staff, Library Club, Maniacs and Young Life. She plans on attending a four-year university to become a dental hygienist.  Crowning the queen was senior cheerleader, Taniyah Diggs.

Madison’s escort was senior Bryson Steele, son of Bryan Steele and Brittany Steele.

Other members of the court were senior Kassidy Brown, senior Ashlyn Burnine, senior Hannah Dillingham, and senior Alajah Gilbert.

Kassidy is the 18-year old daughter of Justin and Kristi Brown.  She is a four-year member of the Lady Rebel Softball and Lady Rebel Soccer teams and served as the soccer team captain.  Kassidy is a member of the FCA, Beta Club, Yearbook, M-Club and is part of Youth Leadership Carroll County. 

She plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin and study Pre-Veterinarian Science.

Escorting Kassidy was junior Hayden Garrett, son of Hunter and Heather Garrett.

 Ashlyn is the 18-year old daughter of Kevin Burnine, and Karen and Tony Hickman.  She is a three-year member of the Lady Rebel Soccer team. 

She is a member of the Beta Club, Maniacs, and Young Life club.  Ashlyn plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin and pursue a career in nursing.

Escorting Ashlyn was Stafford Roditis, son of Spiro and Sandy Roditis.

  Hannah is the 18-year old daughter of Phillip and Suzanne Dillingham.  She is a four-year member of the Lady Rebel Basketball and Lady Rebel Soccer teams.  Hannah was one of the 2022 Lady Rebel Basketball state championship team members and a two-time defensive player of the year, four-year all district player, and 2021 district MVP in Lady Rebel Soccer.  She is a member of the Beta Club, M-Club, and Young Life Club. 

Hannah plans to attend a four-year university to play soccer and pursue a degree in social work.

Escorting Hannah was senior Zach Aird, son of Matt and Misty Aird.

Alajah is the 17-year old daughter of LaShonda Williams.  She is a four-year member of Rebel Cheer team where she serves as captain. Alajah is a member of the Distinguished Scholar Program, Beta Club, FCA, M-Club, Minority Council where she serves as president, and a senior class sergeant at arms.  She plans to attend MTSU and major in exercise science to become an occupational therapist.

She was escorted by senior Zay Webber, son of Tommy Horton and Lameka Webber.
