John Thomas Beamon

Mr. John Thomas Beamon, 81, of Huntingdon, passed away Monday, November 11, at his home.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 16, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home.  Bro. Joe Abbott officiated the service.  Interment followed in Seller’s Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers who served were Reilly Rich, Otis Ellis, Clint Ellis, Remington Taylor, Chad Coleman, and Jared Rowland.    

Mr. Beamon was born July 9, 1938 in Snow Hill, N.C. to the late William Beamon and Maebelle Ham Beamon.  He attended Twin Oaks Church of Christ, worked for F. C. P. I. as an electrician, served in the Army 101st Airborne as a paratrooper in Fort Campbell, Ky. and the Old Guard in Washington D.C. from 1957 until 1963.  He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Madelyn Paige Beamon who passed away in 2008.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Katherine Beamon, one daughter, Amy Beamon Rich (Matt) of Dickson, one son, Neal J. Beamon (Brandi) of Huntingdon, and one sister, Earline Strickland of Saulston, N.C..  He also leaves four grandchildren, Spencer Rich, Reilly Rich (Merry), Cade Rich, Ella Beamon, and one step-grandson, Tyler Giffen (Ashley).
