Joe “Bune” F. Vickers Jr.

Joe Franklin Vickers Jr. “Bune”, 76, of Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, April 7, at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 9, in Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Jacob Harris and Henry Simpson officiating. Burial followed in Liberty All Cemetery.
Mr. Vickers was born on August 24, 1944 in Milan to the late Joe Franklin, Sr. and Myrtle Kirby Vickers. He was blessed with the talent of craftsmanship with carpentry and construction. He was a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church. He was also an avid sportsman that loved to fish and duck hunt.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gena; brother-in-law, Tommy Cole; and step-son, David DeMar.
He is survived by three daughters, Jill (Joe) Schmitt of Malta, New York, Jana Luther, and Joy (John) Raines, both of Huntingdon; two step-sons, Gary (Lisa) Daniels and Richard (Donna) DeMar, both of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Peggy Cole of Huntingdon; twelve grandchildren, Sawyer Raines, Case Raines, Colt Luther, Millie Luther, Nolan Schmitt, Mason Schmitt, Aaron Daniels, Cara Daniels, Mitchell (Haley) DeMar, John Thomas DeMar, Tyler DeMar, and Thomas DeMar; and one great-grandchild, Kason DeMar.
Pallbearers who served were Chris Cole, Tim Blevins, Logan Blevins, Hunter Cole, Matt Barnett, Mitchell DeMar, J.T. DeMar, Aaron Daniels, and Michael Hill.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve Barnett, Richard Akin, Glynn Mebane, Billy Hall McConnell, Jackie Wilkes, and Weldon Bennett.
