Charles E. Balentine

Charles “Chob” Edwin Balentine, 80, of Cedar Grove, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, at his home. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home of Huntingdon with Wesley Grooms officiating. Burial followed at Hebron Cemetery.

Mr. Balentine was born August 20, 1940 in Trenton, to the late Clifton Lee “Shorty” and Beulah Mae (Miller) Balentine.  He was a retired factory worker for Jones Manufacturing and Baptist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lydia K. Balentine, Frances L. Bryant, and Kathryn R. Morgan, and three brothers, William L., Bill N. and James K. Balentine.

He is survived by a daughter, Robin Balentine (Joe)  Hunter, of Ashland City; a son, Michael (Theresa) Balentine, of Trenton; three sisters, Marilyn (Danny) Gooch, of Yuma, Linda Holifield, of Huntingdon, and Shirley Grooms, of Camden;  three brothers, Bob (Donnie) Balentine of Huntingdon, Steve (Linda) Balentine and Fred (Mary) Balentine, both of Greenfield; care givers and special nieces, Kay Grooms and Brenda Williams, three grandchildren Nick (Lara) Hunter, Dustin (Jennifer) Balentine, and Cecelia Balentine, three great-grandchildren, Chloe and Sophie Hunter, and Leia, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers who served were Brenda Williams, Nicky Hunter, Ricky Eubanks, Ricky Smith, Chris, Delton and James S. Balentine, Honorary pallbearers were Joe Hunter, Dustin Balentine, and Chris Drinkard.
