1935-2020
Donald Wayne Roark Sr.,84, of Milan, passed away on March 20, after a brief illness. He was born on June 19, 1935, to William and Cleo Kelly Roark in Huntingdon. Don was a retired Industrial Engineer for Foamex Corporation in Milan and he was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He had served in other churches during his life as deacon and song director. He was an avid fan of the University of Memphis Tigers.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Willie Roark. Don is survived by his wife, Virginia Roark of Milan, a daughter Angela Watlington (Larry) of Sharon, a son, Wayne Roark of Smyrna, one brother, Dr. Kelly Roark of Fort Walton Beach, Fl, one sister Bonnie Webb (James) of Huntingdon, two grandchildren: Rob Stewart of Deltona, Fl. and Taylor Roark of Smyrna, step grandchild Sheay McGehee of Sharon and three step great grandchildren Abbi, Haley and Grant McGehee all of Sharon.
Private family only services were held on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Centerville Cemetery near Milan. There was no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, all donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.
