Approximately 200 people gathered in front of The Dixie Friday afternoon to celebrate the second-annual Designing Women Curated Market. The event highlighted female-owned businesses across the state of Tennessee. The Market was open from 5 until 8 Friday night and from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday. Approximately 200, some of which were men, attended on Saturday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nina Smothers, Huntingdon\u2019s first female mayor. did the honors by cutting the bright pink bow after which the women rushed in to check on the nearly 30 vendors that had booths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Designing Women  Curated Market was birthed from the influence of Dixie Carter in her female empowered role in the popular television show \u201cDesigning Women.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shoppers experienced a wide range of products and services throughout The Dixie\u2019s 3-story building including home goods, candles, facial services and permanent jewelry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
