McKenzie Mayo Jill Holland and council members chose to honor different individuals and sports teams at the last meeting of the year on Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A resolution was passed that honored late council member Debbie Riley for her distinguished service as a councilperson from July 2019 – Oct. 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She died suddenly in Oct. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was described as an exemplary citizen and board member who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for her fellow citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three recent employees who have retired recently were honored for their years of service with plaques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brenda Berryman and Sandy Bradberry worked in the General Government office for 23 years each while Johnny Harris did household pickup for 41 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mayor said you hate to see someone leave when they are doing an outstanding job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
