Heathy lifestyle choices, safe practices, and a generous helping of fun were all on the menu September 27 during Clarksburg School\u2019s Safe Kids Health Fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event featured representatives from health care providers, emergency response agencies, and others \u2013 all providing students with information and hands-on activities promoting health and safety in interesting and fun ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were also games and healthy treats for students, as well as free train rides on Huntingdon\u2019s ISTEA Express.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An Air Evac Life Team flew in for a visit, speaking with students and letting them check out their helicopter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clarksburg school nurse Patsy Smith, who headed up the event, expressed her appreciation to all those who volunteered their time and resources to make the Health Fair a big success and a positive experience for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI thank you all so much for helping out and for being a part of the Health Fair,\u201d said Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others who provided booths and activities during the Health Fair included: Baptist Memorial Hospital-Huntingdon, American Red Cross, Medicine Safety-Prevention Coalition, Coordinated School Health, Carroll County Health Department, Carl Perkins Center, Ollie the Otter, Southern Chiropractic & Wellness Center, Eddie the Tiger, Carroll County Recycling Center, LeBonheur Community Outreach, Coca Cola, Priority Ambulance Service, Clarksburg Fire Department, Carroll County Rescue Squad, Dr. Pam Evans and Christy Blount, Mark Simmons, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Smokey the Bear, EMA Director Janice Newman, UT Extension, TN Army National Guard, Dr. Emily Ezell, Tosha Gurley, and FNP Brand Bartholomew.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
