Carroll County Sheriff’s Department<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Burglary<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022The Sheriff\u2019s Department is investigating the recent burglary of a home and outbuilding in Hollow Rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan Petko told deputies on October 5 that someone broke into her house and shed at 2965 New Hope Road and took multiple items sometime on October 4 or the early morning hours of October 5. Reported as stolen were a Glock 17 handgun valued at $600; a Black Opps pellet rifle with scope, $250; an 18-volt cordless Dewalt combo kit, $500; an 18-inch chainsaw, $200; a steel chainsaw, $100; a Dremel tool set, $200; a robo kit, $200; a Leather Man, $150; various Cabalas hunting clothes, $850; a Hitachi nail gun, $300; and a Hitachi pass load, $300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warrant<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Authorities are looking for a Cedar Grove man regarding an outstanding warrant and other possible charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report by Deputy Ethan Parham, he went to 1755 Highway 220 on October 5 to look for Charles Joseph Baker, 30, of 382 Griggs Chapel Road due to a warrant for violation of probation. Upon arrival, Parham observed Baker standing beside a 1993 Ford Explorer, but when Baker saw the deputy, he ran into a nearby wooded area. Parham pursued Baker on foot for a short distance but then returned to the vehicle. Parham observed a handgun, which turned out to be loaded, sitting out in plain view in the vehicle. A file folder containing letters and documents belonging to Baker were also found in the vehicle. The matter is still under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burglary<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Deputies are investigating the recent burglary of a vehicle in Atwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Chunn told deputies on October 6 that someone had broken into his Ford Fiesta, which was parked at his residence at 23 Highway 79 Lane, sometime between 10 p.m. on October 5 and 9:45 a.m. on October 6 and had taken several items from the vehicle. Reported as stolen were a $600 money order, social security cards, a portable cable saw valued at $150, a neck gaiter valued at $25, and a service vest for a dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burglary<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Department is investigating the recent burglary of an Atwood home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica Estas told deputies on October 6 that someone had broken into her home at 1550 State Route 77 through a back window and had taken numerous items valued altogether at over $5,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theft of Services<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022A warrant has been issued against Adam Simmons, 39, of 13355 Highway 114, Buena Vista, for allegedly stealing utility services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report by deputy Tony King, Simmons used jumper wires to gain access to electricity at the meter box and was using electricity without paying for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domestic Assault<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Ashley Taylor Gurley, 25, of 28 Highway 79 Lane was charged with domestic assault on October 9 for allegedly striking a Cedar Grove man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report by Deputy Cody Walker, he responded to a domestic disturbance at Gurley\u2019s residence and spoke with Gurley and resident Jessie Ray Beshires. Beshires told Walker that Gurley had hit him in the mouth during an argument. Gurley told Walker that she did hit Beshires and that it felt good when she did it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huntingdon Police Department<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Domestic Assault<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Eron L. Dunagan, 38, of Huntingdon was charged with domestic\nassault following an October 1 incident at his residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report by Officer Christopher Cole, he responded to\na domestic situation at 1054 Buena Vista Road and spoke with Dunagan\u2019s wife,\nJulie Dunagan, who told the officer that her husband had slapped her across the\nleft side of her face. Cole observed that Mrs. Dunagan had a large red mark on\nher face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drug Violations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Bradley Wayne Douglas, 51, of Bruceton was charged with unlawful\ndrug paraphernalia and falsifying a drug test during a September 17 traffic\nstop in Huntingdon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officer Labe Ezell reported that he pulled over a black PT Cruiser\ndriven by Douglas because the vehicle\u2019s plate was listed as not being on file.\nDouglas told Ezell that he had just purchased the vehicle and had just put some\ntags on it to drive it home, and he showed Ezell the car title to confirm this.\nDouglas also gave Ezell permission to search his car, and during that search,\nEzell found empty syringes and a bottle of synthetic urine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

License Violation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Kathy Ann Harrington, 48, of Huntingdon was cited into court for\ndriving on a suspended license and failure to show proof of insurance during a\nSeptember 17 traffic stop in Huntingdon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officer Labe Ezell reported that he pulled over a blue 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Harrington in the Dollar General parking lot, and a computer check show that Harrington\u2019s driver\u2019s license was suspended. Harrington could not show proof of insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bruceton Police Department<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Multiple Charges<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Terri Justine Rogers, 29, of Camden was charged with driving while\nlicense suspended, expired registration, violation of financial responsibility,\nviolation of a drug free zone, violation of child restraint, simple possession\nof a schedule VI drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia during an October 2\ntraffic stop in Bruceton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the report by Chief Ronnie Stewart, he observed a\nvehicle driven by Rogers pull out from Central School into the school zone on\nHighway 70. Due to prior knowledge that Rogers\u2019 license was suspended, Stewart\nconducted a traffic stop. While speaking with Rogers, Stewart observed that her\nthree children were not buckled up. A computer check confirmed that Rogers\u2019\nlicense was suspended, her registration was expired, and she could not provide\nproof of insurance. After Rogers gave Stewart consent to search the vehicle, he\nfound a metal smoking pipe containing marijuana residue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burglary<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022The BPD is investigating the recent burglary of a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bruceton residents John and Amy Douglas told officers on October 5\nthat someone broke into their vehicle that previous night while it was parked\nat their residence at 117 North Pine Street. Nothing was reported as being\ntaken, but items were strewn about in the vehicle and the fuse box cover had\nbeen removed. Neighbors reported hearing a commotion at around midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theft<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Officers are looking into the recent theft of an ATV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnny Moudy told officers on October 5 that someone had stolen his\nblue and white 2008 Honda Rancher four-wheeler sometime during the previous\nnight from his residence at 108 Ash Street. Moudy said that the four-wheeler\nhad been dropped off, and the next morning it was missing. Other thefts were\nreported in that neighborhood on the same date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theft<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Officers are investigating the recent theft of a bicycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandy Rich told officers on October 5 that a KZR bicycle valued at $250 had been stolen from her garage at 60 North Pine Street sometime after midnight during the previous night. The bicycle was recovered on October 7, and while the matter is still under investigation, no arrests had been made at the time of the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McKenzie Police Department<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

License Violation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022On October 7, Officer Justin Brister observed an individual known\nto have a revoked Tennessee driver\u2019s license. According to Brister\u2019s report,\nthe driver was Porter Cunningham Jr., who admitted that his license was revoked\nfor DUI. Cunningham was arrested and charged with Driving While Revoked-Fourth\nOffense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

License Violation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022A Martin man was arrested and charged with multiple traffic\noffenses after a stop on October 9 for expired registration violation by\nOfficer Chance Townes. The driver, Dossie Wright of Martin, admitted to not\nhaving insurance on the vehicle, and a computer check revealed that the\nregistration did not match the vehicle. The computer check also revealed Wright\nhad seven prior convictions of Driving on Revoked. He was arrested and charged\nwith Driving While Revoked-Eighth Offense and cited for failure to show proof\nof insurance and removal of registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Criminal Trespass<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022James Ryg notified McKenzie Police that someone was at a Cherry\nStreet residence without the owner\u2019s permission. According to a report by\nOfficer Jeff Winberry, he found Keith Haynes and Rebecca Todd at the residence\nand advised them that the renter did not want them there. Winberry was called\nback to the residence later, and the two were there again. This time they were\narrested and charged with Criminal Trespass and taken to Carroll County Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drug Possession<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022On October 12, Officer Dalton Raspberry initiated a traffic stop\nfor a tag light out. The driver, Timothy Hickey of Union City, informed\nRaspberry he had a loaded handgun behind his seat. Hickey was searched for\nother weapons, and the officer found a bag of marijuana in his jacket pocket\nand drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. Hickey was cited into court for\nPossession of Schedule VI Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domestic Assault<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022Two men were arrested and charged with Domestic Assault after being\ndispatched to an Alabama Street residence in regards to a Domestic Assault in\nprogress. Carlos Wright of McKenzie and Dossie Wright of Martin were arrested\nand charged with Domestic Assault. According to the report, this was the second\ntime officers have had to respond to the residence over the same two\nindividuals for the same thing in the same week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multiple Offenses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022On October 13, a traffic stop by Officer Dalton Raspberry resulted\nin a pair of charges. Raspberry initiated the traffic stop due to a tag light\nout. The driver, William Sydnor, was found to be driving on a suspended license.\nAn inventory search of his vehicle was done and a glass jar was located with\nmarijuana in it. Sydnor was arrested and charged with Driving on Suspended\nLicense-Second Offense and Possession of Schedule Vi Drug and transported to\nCarroll County Jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
