Women’s Suffrage Celebration

Carroll County held a Woman’s Suffrage Celebration on Aug. 26 on the east side of the courthouse in observation of the 100th year since it became the 19^th amendment. Organizing the event was Pastor Wilma Pearson. Tronza Willis sang the National Anthem with a prayer given by Sharon Oglesby. County Mayor Joseph Butler read about the act and the historic vote by the Tennessee Legislature that caused it to be ratified.
