West Carroll High School War Eagles Correction

In this week’s front page story on the West Carroll High School War Eagles advancing to the state tournament, it was incorrectly stated that this is the first time the War Eagles have won a sub-state game and advanced to state. The War Eagles have actually been to the state tournament twice before, making it to the second round at state in both 1995 and 1996. We at the News-Leader apologize to the War Eagles and their fans for this mistake, which was due at least in part to incorrect/incomplete information received from an official source at the school.
