A West Carroll High School War Eagles will be moving on to play football at the college level after graduation.

WCHS senior Armani Bonds signed for a scholarship to play football at Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio during a signing ceremony at the school library Thursday morning.

Bonds, who has played football all four years at WCHS and two years at the junior high level, was picked for this year’s Tennessee Coaches Association All-State First Team, named as the All-Region 7A Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, and made the All-Region Honorable Mention list his junior year.

Bond contributed close to 70 tackles for the War Eagles during the 2018 season.

“Armani has a tremendous opportunity to further his education and play football at the next level,” said WCHS head football coach Josh Wolfe during the signing. “Defiance is definitely getting a good one.”

According to Bonds, he plans to seek a degree in sports management.

Showing their support for Bonds during the signing were his mother, Tequila Melton; his aunt, Kabita Melton; and his sister, Emani Melton.
