Watershed Authority says no stay limit at RV Park

Carroll County Watershed Authority board members made decisions on a couple of RV Park rules while granting five boat dock requests with one that had stipulations at the March 22 meeting.

One of the items on the agenda questioned: Should camping season remain as March 1 – Oct. 30.

Board members felt there should be no camping season and campers could rent a site anytime during the year.

Another question that drew discussion concerned limiting the time of stay and if so, for how long.

“We want others to have camping opportunities, but we don’t want to run someone off,” said board member Joseph Butler.

There are 12 sites with five open at this time, according to board secretary Kim Carter.

Board members agreed not to restrict the stays at this time and to just wait and see how it goes with no limitations.

Boat dock requests were approved for Jeffery and Patricia Roney at 1590 Baker Road; Brad Meeks at 233 Boyd’s Landing Road; Nathan Burns at 385 Natures Trail, Edgewater Estates; Ashley Bowers, Shoreline Drive, Lakepoint Estates, Lot 4; and Joe Baumgardner, 386 Sportsman Cove, M & M Lakeside, Lot 14.

Baumgardner must submit a plan in order for final approval.

The next monthly meeting will be April 26 at 2 p.m.
