Warren Gamaliel Ozier

Mr. Warren Gamaliel “Corn” Ozier, 96, of Buena Vista passed away Thursday, Oct. 3 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The end of an extraordinary life that touched us all.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Bro. Terry Bradshaw will officiate the service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Nathan Strickland, Aaron Strickland, Richard Simmons, Otis Ozier, Jr., Joe Bishop, and Ronnie Webb.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Ozier was born November 6, 1922 in Buena Vista to the late Edwin Ozier and Leona Kee Ozier. He was Purchasing and Receiving Manager for Henry I. Siegel, a member of First Baptist Church in Bruceton, and a member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731. He loved people, horseback riding, Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and big game hunting. When ask how he was able to do so much at his age, he would say, “You just can’t give to it Buddy”. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gailya Gwendolia Ozier, one sister, Gertrude Kee and one brother, Edward Levi Ozier.

He is survived by one daughter, Paula Strickland (husband Dale) of Cheyenne, Wyo., two grandchildren, Nathan Alan Strickland, Aaron Dale Strickland (Tiffany Amber Strickland), Robin Lynn Turner, three great-grandchildren, Spence Warren Strickland, Aiden Dean Strickland, and Owen Paul Strickland. He also leaves six nieces, Patricia Bishop (Joe), Lida Webb (Ronnie), Jean Miller, and Patsy Reynolds, Betty Ringgold, Sherry Ozier, Donna Ozier

and one nephew, Ed Ozier.
