Veterans honored with reception at Harmony Hill

Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11, was a cold and rainy day outside but inside the Colonial Tea Room on the square in Huntingdon it was warm and inviting for our honored veterans. In a celebration sponsored and organized by Huntingdon Health & Rehab, Baptist Hospital System, HH & Hospice and Harmony Hill, veterans were shown appreciation by the community.

Miss Tennessee Volunteer Kerri Arnold from Benton County beautifully sang “The Star Spangled Banner.”  Carroll County Veteran’s Service Office Tom O’Bryant made a presentation on the History of Veteran’s Day and Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler presented the first ever Veteran’s Heart Award to World War II veteran Lewis Carter.

“It was an honor for Harmony Hill to be a part of the celebration honoring the men and women who sacrificed for our freedom. We have already started work on the event for next year,” said Harmony Hill Administrator Adrienne Wade.

Harmony Hill, assisted living by Americare, is located at 100 Jerry F. Atkins Lane in Huntingdon across from Baptist Memorial Hospital of Carroll County off R. B. Wilson Drive…come on by, we’d love to see you.
