Two golf team members from McKenzie High School recently received All-West Tennessee honors from the Jackson Sun.
MHS senior Maggie Glass was named to the Sun’s All-West TN Girls Golf First Team, and Johnathan Moore, also a senior at MHS, made the All-West TN Boys Golf Second Team.
Glass, who recently signed to play golf at Austin Peay State University, helped the Lady Rebels reach the state tournament as a team for the fourth year in a row as a senior in 2020. At state, Glass tied for eighth place individually with a 163 (80-83) in two days of competition.
Glass placed fourth at state during her junior year, and she hold the school records for all-time low scoring average and the lowest scoring round at 5-under-30. She has also been twice named as the Sun’s Female Golfer of the Year and was chosen to the All-Decade Girls Golf Team.
Along with Logan Green, Moore was one of two MHS boys golfers who qualified to go to state in 2020, where he tied for ninth place individually with a two-day score of 157.
