Traffic stop yields $75,000 in meth

Approximately two pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $75,000 was found during a traffic stop last week in Clarksburg.

Christopher Leon Fisher, 39, of Readyville was arrested by Clarksburg Police Officer Carlton Cupples on July 31 with backup from deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, according to information from the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Carroll County Jail.

Cupples pulled Fisher over for speeding.

Fisher had recently been paroled from prison.

There was a female passenger in Fisher’s vehicle at the time of the traffic stop, though further information about her was not available at press time.

Fisher, who is currently being held at the Carroll County Jail, is scheduled to appear in Carroll County General Sessions Court on August 22.
