Three retirees from C. C. Electric Co. honored with luncheon

Three members of the Carroll County Electric Co., who are retiring, were honored during a luncheon at the electric department Friday.

Jimmy Bennett of McKenzie, Burton Bennett of Huntingdon and James Simmons Jr. of Huntingdon were recognized for their many years of service. Plaques were presented Jimmy Bennett and Simmons. Burton Bennett will be presented with his plaque when he officially retires in a couple or so more weeks. A feast of barbecue, baked beans, slaw, cake and ice cream was served to them, members of their families and the electric company’s work crew.

Electric Company manager Danny Brawner lauded the three for their time of service and work ethic.

Jimmy Bennett, line crew foreman, has 42 years of service. Burton Bennett, a lineman, has 32 years on the job. Simmons, with 32 -1/2  years, served as supervisor of the right-of-way crew.

“These fellows walking out the door represent a lot of experience and we will miss them,” said Brawner.

Dakota Parish of Trezevant has been hired as as lineman.
