Dear Mrs. Nanney,
We hope you can help in getting the American flag replaced at the dam of the Carroll County 1,000 acre lake. Several of us veterans in this area are greatly missing it. We realize that flags become badly worn in time and should be properly retired, but in the past, they have always been promptly replaced.
This time the flag seems to have been retired permanently. We all have a tremendous respect for our country and seeing this flag waving in the breeze reminds us of our service to this wonderful country and of the many men and women that have given their lives for the freedoms we still have. Anything you could do to encourage the TWRA to replace it and turn the night light back on it would be greatly appreciated.
Respectfully,
Dr. M. T. McDonald
Retired Captain of the USAF Dental Corps
