The Dixie sustains damage in auto crash

The front of the administrative offices of The Dixie on the east side of the Court Square sustained damage when a car crashed into it Saturday night at 6:45 p.m.

 Town Recorder Kim Carter said she received a phone call about the incident.

Trooper Tyler Milam investigated the incident.

According to a report released about the incident, Tanner Vetter, 30, of Merced, California was driving a 2000 Buick Lasabre in an easterly direction around the Court Square when the vehicle exited off the street and impacted the building. The vehicle came to an uncontrolled final rest against the glass front, breaking it. He was not injured.

It was reported that he said that he was having car trouble at the time.

Normally, Angela Chasse, director of operations, and Leigh Boxell, box office manager, occupy this office Monday through Friday.
