This award is sponsored by American Fidelity, one of the school’s educational partners. Buxton was presented her award in the presence of some of her students by Scott Cartwright, West Tennessee Representative of American Fidelity.

Buxton is a 2016 graduate of Bartlett High School near Memphis. She graduated from Murray State University this past spring, earning her BS degree in Middle School Science Education.

Currently, Buxton resides in Bruceton and teaches 7th and 8th grade Science. Buxton also coaches Central’s cross country and track teams.

Buxton stated, “As a first-year teacher this has been a stressful year, yet it has only deepened my love and passion for teaching. It has ignited a fire to continue to give my best effort every day for our students.”
