If you like sweet tea, good things to eat, and enjoy looking at vintage treasures, oddities, antiques and    artifacts, then the Sweet Tea & Southern Pickin’s Festival in McKenzie is the place for you this weekend on Aug. 26 and 27.

The Southern Fried Funnies that will feature local people will be held on Aug. 25 at 7 p. m. and again on Saturday, the 27th at 2 p.m. for a mere $5 admission.

There will be lots of food vendors, food truck,Kids Fun Zone with bouncy houses and water slides, Susie’s Petting Zoo, Let’s Race at Fruit and Derby Day at the Farmer’s Market.

There will be live music on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Fajita Bros. and from 8 to 10 p.m. with King Beez.

On Saturday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the downtown park’s gazebo, Colton Baker and Band will be playing. The local band, Flashback, will be performing from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 to 10 p.m., Paula Bridges Band will provide music to dance by.

On Friday, golfers can be involved in a golf tournament beginning at 9 a.m. To register go online at https://growmckenzie.com/golf-tournament-registration.

The Sweet Tea Classic Disc Golf Tournament will be Saturday. It is sanctioned with the PDGA. Will McKaskle of Dynsmic Disc in Nashville will run the live digital scoring. To register online: discgolfscene.com.
