During times of adversity we all need comfort. We also need perseverance and a shared experience. During periods of struggle or adversity it is common for family and friends as well as others to come along side to help ease their burden by sharing some of the load. When Job was overwhelmed with various troubles; from losing loved ones, losing his employ, and loss of health three of his friends upon hearing of his adversity came along side to give comfort and show concern. Due to their concern They chose to come to his aid. Another example of shared comfort a large number of people upon hearing of Mary and Martha who were mourning the loss of their brother came along side to console them. Shared comfort and or consolation may involve words, absence of words, or acts of support and assistance.
There are many ways in which we may support and ‘bear’ one another’s burdens. People for ages have helped one another financial assistance to sharing labor in rebuilding from loss. Support carries the purpose of keeping oneself directly opposite another so as to sustain them. This may include helping one build or rebuild in any aspect of their wellbeing, which may include physically, mentally and emotionally. Some people may be able to persevere through all manner of obstacles with limited support from others. However, some people may need stronger encouragement and motivational support because they feel they have been knocked down to their knees so intensely and so frequently that the task of getting up and building and or rebuilding is extremely monumental mentally and emotionally.
