Sharron Holland retires as Baptist’s chief financial officer

Sharron Holland says she could think of no better place to work than Baptist Memorial Hospital – Carroll County.

After nearly 42 years of being employed at the hospital she has decided to retire. She and her husband Jerry reside in McLemoresville.

She was honored with a retirement party in the hospital’s conference room on Friday with employees and friends wishing her well.

She has worked in a variety jobs while being employed at the hospital, starting out as a switch board operator right after graduating from Huntingdon High School. She’s worked in insurance, accounting and other jobs related to finance before she was promoted to chief financial officer in 2010.

“I can’t think of a better organization than Baptist that cares as much about the people and community,” she said. “God put me in this position. It’s one that I have really enjoyed.”

Hospital CEO Susan Breeden said Holland has done a great job in her position and will be missed.

Holland and her husband have one son, Ryan and a daughter-in-law, Michelle, and two grandsons, Asher and Kade, who reside in Franklin. She says that she and her husband plan to travel some and babysit  their two grandsons.
