Shad release will help fish at 1,000 Acre Lake

Approximately 12,500 threadfin shad were released on Tuesday at the Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreational Lake.

Officials from the Carroll County Watershed Authority, County Mayor Joseph Butler, Huntingdon Mayor Dale Kelley, and Chamber President Brad Hurley joined several local fisherman in watching the release of the fish.

The threadfin shad were paid for by the Carroll County Chamber Fish Care Account. As soon as more funds are secured, more orders for threadfin shad will be made.

If you would like to donate to the Fish Care Account, you can do so by contacting the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce office at 731-986-4664.
