Samuel Lee Dodd, 63, of Cedar Grove, passed away Wednesday August 18 at Jackson Madison General Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 25 at Abundant Life Family Worship Center. Burial followed at Clarksburg Cemetery with Alan Baumgardner and Jerry Roach officiating.
Mr. Dodd was born October 1, 1957, to the late Eugene Dodd and Martha Hodge Douglas. He was a retired truck driver for WEL Company, member and Associate Pastor at Abundant Life Family Worship Center.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Brandi Chace and stepbrother, Leonard Douglas.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Dodd; three daughters, Shannon Dodd of Jackson, Ellen Bell of Chattanooga, and Lindsey Bell of Cleveland; two sons, Christopher (April) Chace of Cedar Grove and Eric Chace of Heber Springs, Ark.; one sister, Linda (Ed) Pickett of Huntingdon; one brother, Gary (Dawn) Dodd of Petersburg, Ill.; six grandchildren, LaSha Scott, Becca Dvorak, Hailey Bynum, Lexi Ownes, Alyssa Chace, and Ansley Chace; two great-grandchildren, Easton Bynum and Rylee Bynum; he was excited to be welcoming one grandchild and three great-grandchildren early 2022; his stepmother, Velda Jones Dodd; four step-brothers, Bradly Hollis of Huntingdon, William (Laurie) Hollis of Seneca, IL, Donald (Maria) Barrett of Wis., and Mike Douglas of West Chicago, Ill.; his constant companion, his American Bully, Samson.
Pallbearers who served were Christopher Chace, Eric Chace, Dewey Kramer, Brian Kyle, Ronald Baumgardner, Bradly Hollis, Jonathan Dodd and Nickey Joe Dodd. Honorary pallbearers were James Dodd and Cliff Smith.
