Samuel Byron Butler

1950-2019

Mr. Samuel “Sammy” Byron Butler, 69, of Yuma, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Butler was born March 29, 1950 in Huntingdon, to the late Wayne Butler and Kathleen (Joyner) Butler.  He was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation, was a Vietnam Army Veteran and member of the VFW in Lexington.  He loved spending his spare time playing his guitar.  He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shawna Givens, two sisters, Wilma Jean Hamlin, Betty Jo Green, and one brother, Jerry Wayne Butler.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Kay Butler, one daughter, Shay Eaves of Wylie, Texas, one son, Samuel Bryon Butler, Jr., of Marion, Ark., two sisters, Mary Lynn Redden (Danny) of McKenzie, Paula Harris of Southaven, Miss., and one brother, Randy Butler (Wanda) of Huntingdon.  He also leaves six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
