Here’s an old fashion southern pie recipe that can’t be beat.
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter softened
1/4 teaspoon sale
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups light corn syrup
1 cup pecans
2 unbaked (9-inch) pie shells
Beat the sugar, butter and salt in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, flour, vanilla and corn syrup. Stir in the pecans. Pour into the pie shells. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 12.
