Nelle Smothers Lowe, 86, of Bruceton, passed away Tuesday, September 1, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services conducted by Bruceton Funeral Home were held Saturday, September 5, at 2 p.m., at the Bruceton First Baptist Church with Josh Franks officiating. Burial followed at Prospect Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowe was born June 5, 1934, in Carroll County, to the late Clarence L. Smothers and Erma S. Austin Smothers. She was a retired supervisor for H.I.S. Inc. in Bruceton and was a faithful member of Bruceton First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylon Lowe, and three sisters, Juanita Hampton, Sue Tippitt, and Maybelle Blankenship.
She is survived by two sons, Billy (Lee) Lowe, of New Johnsonville, and Barry (Donna) Lowe, of Jackson; a sister, Glenda Sparks, of Camden; four grandchildren, Bart (Amy), Benjamin (Ryane), Ryan (Shelby), and Courtney (Todd), and six great-grandchildren, James, John, Bennett, and Rylen Lowe, and Lilly and Landon Merrell
