A dispute between neighbors has resulted in the death of a Cedar Grove man, Larry G. Watkins, Jr. on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 14, around 5 p.m., according to reports from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Joseph Wert, 21, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Larry G. Watkins of Cedar Grove.
According to the TBI release, Watkins was found deceased outside of a home in the 600 block of Moss Creek Road in Cedar Grove.
The suspect is being held in the Carroll County Jail without bond pending his first court appearance.
A call came into the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department around 5 p.m. that a shooting had occurred at 660 Moss Creek Road.
Carroll County deputies and an ambulance rushed to the scene. TBI agents joined members of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department in investigating Watkins’ death.
