Mustangs show spirit in homecoming parade, pep rally

Mustang spirit was definitely in the air as homecoming festivities took over the Town of Huntingdon on Thursday.

The annual homecoming parade made its way through town with each high school class showing off its homecoming float and football players, cheerleaders, and managers, as well as representatives of various clubs and other sports teams, riding on trailers and in other vehicles.

Top float awards went to the senior class, who won Most Original and the Overall Best Float award, with their Christmas themed float, “The Most Wonderful Time.”

The junior class’ “Nightmare Before Christmas” float won Most School Spirit.

The Most Beautiful award went to the sophomore class for their “Sink the Tigers” float.

“The Greatest Show on Earth” was the title of the freshman class’ float, which won the Most Creative award.

The parade concluded at the court square, where students, staff, and local residents gathered for a pep rally.

Seniors Hunter Ensley and Olivia Angelos were named Mr. and Miss HHS during the pep rally.

The son of Marty and Alice Ensley, Hunter is a four-year member of both the football and baseball teams and also serves on the HHS Student Council. He has committed to play baseball at UT Knoxville after graduation.

Olivia, who is the daughter of Peter and Ginger Angelos, is a member of the Beta Club and Student Council.

The senior class won this year’s Spirit Stick.
